Carl E. Nordstrom, MD
Gastroenterology
Dr. Nordstrom received his BA in biology and religious studies from Hamline University and his MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then came to Los Angeles where he completed his internal medicine residency at the Cedars-Sinai/West Los Angeles VA program and served an additional year as chief resident. Dr. Nordstrom completed his gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA where he also served as chief fellow and received the Housestaff Teaching Award. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Rimma Shaposhnikov, MD
Gastroenterology
Dr. Shaposhnikov joined UCLA five years ago and helped establish GI practices at the Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks locations. She is the director of the northwest clinical practices and the newly established surgical center. She practices general gastroenterology in all its aspects, with particular interests in inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders, irritable bowel syndrome and colon cancer screening. She is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association.
Elliott Birnstein, MD
Gastroenterology
Dr. Birnstein is a general gastroenterologist practicing in Downtown Los Angeles. His clinical interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, functional bowel disorders (functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome), gastrointestinal bleeding, gastrointestinal infections, colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic constipation, gastrointestinal endoscopy, acute and chronic liver diseases and liver cirrhosis complications. Apart from his clinical duties, Dr. Birnstein enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Dr. Lenhart specializes in general gastroenterology with clinical interests that include functional bowel disorders/disorders of brain-gut interaction (irritable bowel syndrome, functional dyspepsia, chronic constipation), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), colon cancer screening and polypectomy, peptic ulcer disease, GI bleeding, esophageal and gastric disorders, celiac disease and hepatology. Dr. Lenhart is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Vikas K. Pabby, MD, MPH

Dr. Pabby is board certified in gastroenterology, internal medicine and pediatrics. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Pabby practices general gastroenterology with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. His research interests include translational and clinical research in inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Pabby is the lead gastroenterologist of the North Hollywood Digestive Diseases Practice and director of the North Hollywood Endoscopy Center.
Didi I. Mwengela, MD

Dr. Mwengela practices general gastroenterology. Her clinical interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, colorectal cancer screening, fatty liver disease, nutrition, obesity and general endoscopic procedures. Craig Gluckman, MD

After relocating to New York City, Dr. Gluckman completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital in New York. He went on to pursue additional training at the University of Pennsylvania, completing a further fellowship in esophageal and swallowing disorders. During his training, Dr. Gluckman developed a particular interest in esophageal and gastrointestinal motility disorders. Dr. Gluckman is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, and is a member of the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society.
Laura A. McEnerney, MD

Dr. McEnerney is a gastroenterologist in Santa Clarita. She is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, and specializes in general digestive health, with particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. McEnerney is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. She is fluent in Spanish.
