John D. Fernandez, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. John David (JD) Fernandez is a primary care physician who practices in Beverly Hills. His clinical interests include adult primary care, management of chronic health conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity, primary care for transgender and gender-diverse patients, and the transition of care for young adults into adult primary care.
Dr. Fernandez grew up in Kentucky and received his medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science from Northwestern University.
Dr. Fernandez has experience working with transgender and gender non-conforming patients in both rural and urban environments. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed research articles on topics related to LGBTQ+ health. He is currently a clinical instructor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Outside of work, Dr. Fernandez enjoys singing, theatre, video games, and meditation.
Daniel H. Puneky, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. Daniel Puneky is a Clinical Instructor in the UCLA Department of Medicine, and an adult primary care physician in Beverly Hills. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and certified as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. His clinical interests include care of members of the LGBTQ community, HIV primary care and prevention including PrEP and PEP, as well as preventative medicine. Dr. Puneky's philosophy is maintaining wellness through a collaborative partnership with his patients. He strives to recognize the unique physical, mental, emotional and psychosocial aspects that contribute to the health of each individual, and utilize them to promote well being.
Rebecca C. Rada, DO, MBA
Family Medicine
Rebecca Rada (they/them) is a queer, non-binary Family Medicine trained physician and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine at UCLA. They are also a part of the Gender Health Program and were the prior LGBTQ+ Primary Care Fellow at UCLA from 2021-2022. Their clinical interests include transgender/gender diverse care and hormone management for adolescents and adults, LGBTQ+ primary care, HIV primary care, PrEP, STI prevention and treatment, addiction medicine, and providing equitable care to marginalized groups. Originally from the Midwest, they received their Masters in Biomedical Sciences from Kansas City University in 2014 prior to obtaining their Osteopathic Medical Degree from Kansas City University in 2018. While in medical school, they also received their MBA in Healthcare Leadership from Rockhurst University, Helzberg School of Management. They completed their Family Medicine residency in St. Louis, Missouri in 2021.
Their interests outside of work include propagating cacti and succulents, finding the best iced oat milk latte in town, tidepooling, spending time at the beach, consensually petting other people’s dogs, hanging out with friends, and advocating and promoting social justice issues.
